Challenge: Make $1,000 in One Week with Affiliate Marketing

For the next seven days, I'm challenging myself to make $1,000 with affiliate marketing. I'll be starting from scratch and sharing the entire process with you. If you want to see exactly how I go from zero to $1,000 in just one week, stick around till the end of this post.

Day 1: Getting Started

It's currently day one of this challenge, and I have a lot of work to get done today. For those unfamiliar with affiliate marketing, it's when you promote a brand's products or services with a specific link. If someone clicks on your link and signs up, you earn a commission.

Picking a Niche

The first thing I want to do today is pick a niche to promote. There are so many good topics out there like cooking, finance, fitness, and self-development. For this challenge, I'll be picking business because I've found that it makes the most money.

Creating Social Media Accounts

Next, I need to create theme pages on TikTok and Pinterest to promote my affiliate links. I like using these two platforms because they are the easiest to grow on. I've created the accounts with similar usernames: "way to billionaire." I also designed the profile pictures using Canva.

Finding Affiliate Links

Before I can start posting content, I need to find good affiliate links to promote. My favorite websites for finding affiliate links are impact.com and clickbank.com. I created an account on impact.com and went through the sign-up process. While waiting for approval, I checked out ClickBank's affiliate marketplace in the business and investing category.

I found an affiliate link where you get paid to review apps on your phone. I got my custom affiliate link, and now anytime someone signs up using my link and reviews apps, I earn a commission. I also signed up for the Coinbase affiliate program, where I can earn a 10% commission for new sign-ups.

I'm waiting for my impact.com account approval to find more affiliate links. I'll update once I'm approved.

Day 2: Advertising Strategy

It's day two, and I've been approved for the Robinhood affiliate link but still waiting on the Shopify link. I'll start advertising the links I have.

Setting Up Linktree

First, I put my affiliate links in my social media bios using Linktree, which allows you to have all your links in one place.

Posting Content

To promote my affiliate links, I'll search for business or money motivation videos on TikTok. I'll save viral videos, remake them using Canva, or download them without watermarks using snaptick.app. Unfortunately, you can't put a link in your TikTok bio until you reach 1,000 followers. My plan is to ensure the first six videos I post have gone viral before. TikTok tends to boost the first few videos to get you hooked to the platform.

I'll post 2-4 videos daily on TikTok and Pinterest. I'll update in a few days with my progress.

Day 9: Results

After a week (actually nine days due to delays), I'm happy with the results.

TikTok Success

I grew my TikTok account to over 1,000 followers quickly by posting viral-worthy videos. I was then able to add my Linktree with all my affiliate links. Some videos went viral, driving traffic to my links.

Pinterest Progress

I posted the same content on Pinterest, but it takes longer to get views. Consistency is key, usually taking 2-3 weeks to see results. All my leads came from TikTok this week.

Earnings

In the nine days, 21 people signed up for the free Shopify trial, and six signed up for Robinhood. No one signed up for Coinbase or ClickBank.

  • Robinhood: $30 (plus potential additional $20 per deposit)
  • Shopify: Estimated $900 if 30% of sign-ups pay after the trial

While I didn't make $1,000 in a week, the potential future earnings look promising. Consistently using this strategy could make at least $2,000 per month, especially with the high-paying Shopify program.

That's all for this challenge. I hope it helped you out, and I'll see you in the next post!
